Claire Jamieson

Programme Co-ordinator

Claire joined the Building Futures team in 2009 and leads on a range of research projects including Professional Futures and Identity.

She completed her BA in Architecture at Cambridge University, and has since graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Architecture. Claire had an insatiable appetite for the historical and theoretical parts of her studies and decided upon graduation that research was a fitting outlet for her skills and passions. Claire’s interests remain rooted in architecture and the built environment, however she is more concerned with these topics in reference to broader society, social politics and demography. Claire is interested in the nature of the architectural profession and where it stands within contemporary society, and the complex ethical issues that surround it but are not often addressed.

Claire developed a strong interest in the use of future scenarios and demographics whilst studying at the Royal College of Art, and is interested in how these techniques can influence the way we design and develop our buildings, products and communities. She is also fascinated by statistics and their ability to quash our preconceptions.

Claire is a keen writer with a naturally journalistic style which she hopes to develop at Building Futures and beyond.
