Elin Gudnadottir

Elin joined the Building Futures team in January 2010 as manager. Her main responsibilities are overseeing the running of the organisation and developing its work programme. Previously she worked in the field of community engagement in regeneration where she developed and carried out research as well as policy work into local governance and community participation. Projects included study into people’s perception of their local high street, value of urban design and people’s engagement in the planning system. Elin is the co-author of the Handy Guide to the English Planning system.
Hailing from Iceland Elin has lived and worked all over Europe, including Cacers, Hamburg and Hull. Along the way she has developed strong interest in politics and community engagement and both how individuals can influence their environment and the environment influence communities.
