AGAINST THE MOTION
Greg is a chartered civil engineer with over 30 years experience of maritme civil engineering including involvement in coastal flood risk management. He was involved in the late 70’s for over 4 years in the design and construction of the Thames Barrier and was Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Institution of Civil Engineers from 2001 to 2005.
Greg is currently a Director of Ove Arup & Partners and responsible for the firm’s Global Maritime Business.
On the lighter side – he was the first civil engineering undergraduate at Edinburgh University to study a course at and gain a merit certificate from the Fine Art Department; one possible consequence is that one of his sons is currently studying architecture at the University of Bath.
Greg plays cricket, sails and, when he can, runs and reads.
