Adrian Forty studied Modern History at Oxford, and History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London. His PhD was taken at UCL. Since 1999 he has been Professor of Architectural History at the Bartlett, UCL, where he directs the MA programme in Architectural History. He is the author of Objects of Desire, (1986), and Words and Buildings, A Vocabulary of Modern Architecture (2000) and co-edited with Suzanne Kuechler The Art of Forgetting (1999) and with Elisabetta Andreoli Brazil’s Modern Architecture (2004). He has just completed a book on concrete and culture.
