Nicholas is a graduate of both the University of Cambridge and University College London. He is founder and director of NRAP Architects based in both Cambridge and London. Nicholas has a broad experience not only in practice, but in theory, criticism and research having lectured, exhibited and written extensively.

In 2005 he edited Architecture & its Ethical Dilemma a publication arising from a 2004 conference and as well as this, he has written extensively on the life and work of Alvar Aalto, the University buildings at Cambridge College, contributed to numerous publications on architectural theory and cultural understanding and is a regular reviewer for the RIBA Journal and wider press.

He is an Emeritus in Architecture at the University of Cambridge and has lectured widely at Schools across the world including at RMIT, Melbourne, Australia, at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Santiago, the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, USA and also in Berlin, Bonn, Dresden, Heidelberg & Jena for Deutsche-Englische Gesellschaft.
