Founding Director, Fashion Architecture Taste: Fat

Sean is an architect, writer, academic and broadcaster. He is a founding director of the architectural practice Fashion Architecture Taste:FAT which is known for its provocative architecture exploring issues of taste and communication through the use of ornament, decoration and spatial collage. The practice’s completed projects include the acclaimed Islington Square affordable housing project in Manchester, the Blue House in London, and the RIBA European Award winning St Lucas Art Academy in the Netherlands. Sean is a regular contributor to architectural publications, and is also involved in architectural education as a Reader in Architecture at the University of Westminster, where he teaches a post graduate design studio, and as the Louis I Kahn Visiting Professor of Architecture at Yale School of Architecture in the United States. Next year he will be broadcasting a number of short films about architecture for BBC 1’s “The One Show”.
