Mark Whitby began his professional life during the three day week and launched whitbybird during the miners’ strike in 1983; selling it on 7/8/2007 two day before the market crash.
Whilst luck plays an important part in everybody’s lives he believes that recessions are a time of opportunity and sees the three he lead the practice through as defining periods during which the practice was able to flourish. Behind recessions is the ruthless necessity for business to exploit emerging talent and technologies that was ultimately recognised at whitbybird with a Queens Award for innovation.
Mark now operates as an independent consultant.
