Futures in Focus looked at a pertinent futures issue or set of issues in detail across five spaces that could develop further the Global and local theme of the day. Each seminar included two speakers- experts in their field- and gave delegates the opportunity to focus in on factors and scenarios likely to feature over the next 10-15 years.
Issues highlighted within these sessions included:
How will colliding interests of energy reduction and increased transport impact planning of towns and cities?
How will movement of the ‘Global Elite’, displaced populations or Polish migrant labourers affect a fundamental rethink of our future housing stock?
How will the Mekong Delta, the Rio Salado or the Humber influence the future of our own built landscape?
