Abstract: NEW CHALLENGES, NEW RETAIL
A review of some of the key challenges facing retailers today and the ways in which Retail Design can help them meet those challenges. Retail Design has become the second factor in customers’ judgement of a retail brand- second only after Product, more important than Advertising or Service.

Future Economic, Environmental, Social and Market conditions are moulding the way we shop and the look and feel of the Retail Landscape. Differentiation in this competitive and overcrowded market is hard to achieve but those who are investing in Design are seeing a clear benefit, giving them stand-out and ultimately gaining market share through customer loyalty. Maintaining Brand and achieving a distinctive identity is a huge step to retail success.
