Learning Environments of the Future: Schools identifies and tests different scenarios for learning environments of the future. The study seeks to look beyond current innovative practice and to explore the physical learning environments 20 years in the future, to evaluate the implications for schools currently being commissioned, existing schools and the wider community. It seeks to provoke debate about whether the reality of future visions reflects the aspirations of the different stakeholders and of wider society. The work (undertaken by Ultralab) is focused on learning environments for the 11-18 age group, and is relevant to different audiences, including those involved in the designing, commissioning and maintaining of school buildings, as well as educationalists, teachers and parents.
