e-Futures focuses on the impact of information technology on the built environment. Digital technologies are having a concrete impact on the way that we live and work today but what does this mean specifically for the future of design and construction? The study considers a range of issues that will have a potential impact upon the future from broad cultural concerns to more precise issues of construction and fabrication, through two major conferences and publications. The events explore how digital technologies have opened up new possibilities in the fields of architectural design, structural engineering, material composition and construction technique, and in particular, new collaborative ventures between architects and engineers.
